KidCare is a charitable, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) not for profit organization formed in 2009 dedicated to helping underprivileged and homeless children in our communities. We are committed to helping children reach their full potential by making philanthropic grants, performing charitable services, strengthening families and contributing to their overall health and vitality. Our ultimate mission is to simply "Let Kids be Kids" and alleviate the stresses that impoverished children often face giving them every opportunity to thrive. Brian puts it well "Our hope is for our contributors to watch the kids we sponsor transcend together with us which will undoubtedly encourage them to stay involved and sponsor new children going forward."
Early on we teamed up with Homes for the Homeless which provides shelter for over 750 children throughout New York. KidCare is proud to have been able to sponsor and initiate many programs including yearly Tee Ball team for children 5-7yrs old, numerous job hops, after school arts program, movie nights, a trip for children living in the LAFH shelter to the 2011 NBA All-Star festivities, and of course our yearly toy drive which to date has collected over 2,000toys all going to make the children we support holidays a bit brighter.
Currently our attention has turned to the immediate urgency of the many people affected by Hurricane Sandy. We have specifically teamed up with the Church of Nazarene in providing over 1,000 families displaced by the storm with food, water, and basic necessities.
We look forward to continuing to support these people who through no fault of their own are put into a very tough situation. In the end the smiles on their faces makes it all worthwhile and the support of our friends and families makes it all possible.
